Our new hiking holiday from Årgab to Vejers Strand is something out of the ordinary. It takes you through some of the West Coast’s most beautiful nature and includes unique accommodations.
The route leads you through शांत and undisturbed areas, where the pace slows down and there is space for the experience itself. Along the way, you pass small coastal communities and open landscapes, while the North Sea follows you for most of the journey.
Each stage is carefully planned with a focus on comfort and balance, allowing plenty of time for both hiking and breaks. The days conclude in the best possible way at Nymindegab Kro and Henne Mølle Å Badehotel – two of the most renowned hotels along the Jutland west coast – where there is peace for both recovery and immersion in the experience.

The first stage of the hiking holiday takes you through a landscape where the West Coast’s strong contrasts stand out clearly. The area is characterized by few buildings and long, quiet stretches, creating a sense of distance from the pace of everyday life.
Along the way, the surroundings gradually change in character. In some places, the route runs close to the coast with views of the sea; in others, it moves further inland, where the calm waters of the fjord and the rich birdlife set the atmosphere. It is an area that invites slow movement and attention to small details – the light over the meadows, the wind in the marram grass, and the traces of wildlife in the sand.
As Nymindegab approaches, the landscape gathers around the narrow strip of land between the sea and the fjord. Here, the hiking day ends in peaceful surroundings at the charming Nymindegab Kro, where you can take a well-deserved break, enjoy a well-prepared meal, and let the day’s impressions settle.
DAY 2: NYMINDEGAB - HENNE MØLLE Å

Between Nymindegab and Henne Mølle Å, the first kilometers are characterized by wide dunes, where the wind moves freely and the view stretches far in all directions. Here, the West Coast is experienced in its most raw and undisturbed form. Gradually, the surroundings change, and the route leads through more varied types of nature. Sandy paths give way to greener passages, and small depressions in the terrain provide space for rich plant and bird life.
As Henne Mølle Å approaches, the landscape becomes denser and more vibrant. The winding course of the stream, surrounded by trees and meadow areas, contrasts beautifully with the more open stretches of the day. Here, the stage concludes in one of the area’s most beautiful landscapes, and at the unique Henne Mølle Å Badehotel – with views of the North Sea – you can enjoy the evening in calm and inviting surroundings.
DAY 3: HENNE MØLLE Å - VEJERS STRAND
- Distance: 15,5 kilometers
- Pick-up: Vejers Strand
This final stage from Henne Mølle Å to Vejers Strand is the essence of the VesterhavsCamino. Here, you hike through an open coastal landscape where nature unfolds on a grand scale, and where every step feels connected to the surroundings.
The route winds through varied dune formations, where the landscape changes character along the way. In some places, you walk high up with wide views along the coast; in others, you move through calmer low-lying areas where the silence is allowed to fill the space.
Gradually, the beaches open up in their full width. The rhythm of the waves follows you, the pace naturally slows, and the hike concludes with a sense of calm and presence. The stage ends in Vejers Strand – a lively West Coast town with wide sandy beaches and dunes reaching right into the town.
Here, you have the opportunity to enjoy a well-deserved lunch before being picked up by our minibus at 2:00 PM and driven back to the starting point in Årgab. The bus ride takes approximately 45 minutes.

DIFFICULTY LEVEL
Between Årgab and Vejers Strand, you hike through an open coastal landscape with predominantly easy and accessible terrain. There are no steep climbs or technically demanding sections, and the route is suitable both for experienced hikers and for those seeking a more relaxed hiking experience.
THE TERRAIN
The terrain varies between firm paths, sand, and dune areas, which in some places may require a bit of extra effort, but the pace can be maintained evenly throughout.

A good start to the day is important, which is why breakfast at the hotels is included in your hiking holiday. Lunch and dinner are up to you along the way, giving you the freedom to eat where and when it suits you best.
